Room of Peace:

A warm winter Hello, Another month has flown by. Last week we celebrated under 8’s week on with fantastic expressive art activities outside in the morning and again in the afternoon, Great fun was had by all. Our room has been having fun with puppet shows, which is helping with the children’s social/emotional skill development and with taking turns. We are always working on our phonemes, with I spy game, matching sounds to objects around us. New to the room are the bells and the children try and match the bells by listening to their sound. Some of us are learning to play familiar songs with the bells. Colour tablet box number three which is colour sorting in shades from lightest to darkest has been introduced. We welcome Ellen to our room to learn the Montessori methods. During the cooler days, we will be playing outside later in the mornings taking advantage of the fresh air and sunshine. As these children mature, there is less emphasis on sleep at rest time but more emphasis on consideration for others who do need sleep. The challenge for our children is remaining quiet while others are resting. Until next time stay safe and take care, Mel, Kate, and Ellen.
